STAINED GLASS WINDOWS
This piece is called "Stained Glass Windows" representing the feeling and soul of the African American Baptist church which has largely spread it's gospels through performance and the act of praise. This piece shows one of my favorite topics that has centered my life long connection between the African American community and the church. As an artist every form of performing within a church is centered around praise and worship, thus this piece shows a very common visual of a stained glass window which is seen in most traditional church settings of a sanctuary. The praise dancers represent the form of movement and repetition which mimic what a stained glass window does with its colorful patterns and vibrant dancer like strokes of glass.
